Angst Lodge is located at Clarendon, NSW, on 3 acres adjoining the Hawkesbury Racecourse.
We are ideally situated, being only 50mins to Randwick Racecourse, 30 mins to Rosehill Racecourse, and 40 mins to Warwick Farm Racecourse.
Hawkesbury Race Cub is one of the most progressive Provincial Race Clubs in the Southern Hemisphere, and their racecourse training facilities can boast having the most modern training tracks of any provincial club in NSW, providing 2 fast training tracks that are on a par with facilities offered by any Metropolitan race club..
Angst Lodge was built in 1960 by Ron Dickerson. Ron moved from Orange to the Hawkesbury district in the late 1950′s. One of the most celebrated horses trained by Ron at Hawkesbury was Duo, who ran third to Galilee (JB Cummings) in the 1966 Melbourne Cup at Flemington VIC.
Noel’s took out his trainers licence in November 1992, after an 11 year stint at Nebo Lodge as Assistant Trainer to his elder brother Brian. Noel’s first runner which subsequently became his first winner in November 1991 at Taree, the horse was Dismasted (Arg). Noel and Emma Mayfield Smith purchased Angst Lodge in 1996.
Since then, Noel & Emma have extensively improved the facilities at Angst Lodge, and now have the latest, state of the art equipment on hand.

Noel is a hands-on trainer who is readily accessible to all his owners, and encourages owners input. He is involved in every facet of the running of his stable.
